José started his studio in the Detroit area in 1981 and he's designed and made hundreds of furniture pieces and decorative functional items since. His passion has always been to design pieces that transcend the usual function of that object into something more appealing and magical.
José's furniture has been exhibited twice at The Detroit Institute of Arts. The Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in NYC has archived his work in their Latino-Hispanic archive and he has also exhibited at El Museo Del Barrio in NYC for their 25th Anniversary Exhibition. Numerous major publications including Martha Stewart Living and Elle Decor have featured his work.
His Greenware culinary and tabletop collection is available currently at several fine retail stores including Heath Ceramics in Sausalito, San Francisco and Los Angeles. In Michigan at NORA in Detroit and Huzza in Harbor Springs and Chicago at Manifesto.
